This is a book about North American places, large and small, urban and rural, well known and off the beaten track. It's also a book about all the wonderful strangers we knew for an hour or two. And to some degree, a book about living the life of a tumbleweed.
When I retired we bought a really big recreational vehicle (RV), sold the house, got rid of our "stuff," and set out on a ten year roadtrip to see what there was to see.

This is a delightfully, well-written travelogue of a 10 year journey across our country. Most of the travels are off the beaten paths of Interstate highways. And in “traveling the road less traveled” John and Cindi discover some real gems hidden in small towns and cities that most travelers would unknowingly pass right by. The narrative surrounding these unique discoveries is detailed but not to the point of being boring. Actually, most of the time it is presented in such a way so as to actually pique further interest.The author has an easy-to-read style of writing – it’s just like having an old friend tell you about a very interesting 10 year period of his life.

Disappointing book.
Excellent and motivating description of a 10 year trip, with many very good tips.
I was looking for a travel experience book and I found this one. If you are into the history of people and place then you will love this book. The author writes in great detail and is very informative. I will definitely go to the places they did when I hit the road.
Great journal of full timing with valuable ideas and advice. Lots of information about things to see and do.
Too much negative political/social snide, sarcastic side comments for my taste so have not finished.
